Mission Hills China regularly hosts some of the world’s biggest golf events and players on its courses. It is committed to bringing China to the world and the world to China via an annual series of tournaments aimed both at cultivating the stars of tomorrow, and showcasing the game at its present height.
Mission Hills Golf Series Junior Tour
In light of the relative expense of golf and current lack of junior tournaments in China, Mission Hills has announced the creation of the Mission Hills Golf Series Junior Tour. Starting in January 2010, this series of tournaments strives to make the game of golf more accessible to a wider sector of the population. The Tour is sanctioned by the Guangdong Golf Association and organized in partnership with the Hong Kong Golf Association, Faldo Series Asia, and the China Athlete Education Foundation (CAEF). Endorsed by The R&A and Asia Pacific Golf Confederation (APGC).
ANNIKA-Invitational
The ANNIKA Invitational was founded by ANNIKA Foundation in 2009, and was named the “Best New Event” by American Junior Golf Association in 2009 and the “Best Invitational” in 2010. The ANNIKA Invitational at Mission Hills is the first junior girls-only tournament in China and Asia, and the first ANNIKA Invitational event outside United States.
Academy Cup
As one part of the Mission Hills Junior Golf Development Programme, Academy Cup is aiming to supply a more accessible platform for juniors to access to golf, and to enhance grass root golf education for the popularization of the game. There will be total 16 tournaments in Academy Cup from June to December, open to boys and girls aged 7 to 16. By that time, Junior Tour players who aged under 9, or with a handicap higher than 28, or average scores higher than 100, will be transferred to the Academy Cup.
